Univ.-Prof. Dr. rer. oec. habil. Katharina Hölzle, MBA has been Director of IAT University of Stuttgart and of Fraunhofer IAO since April 2022.

From November 2019 to March 2022, Univ.-Prof. Dr. Katharina Hölzle has been professor for IT Entrepreneurship at the Hasso Plattner Institute, Digital Engineering Faculty of the University of Potsdam. An industrial engineer from Karlsruhe, she started her career at Siemens Semiconductors, later Infineon Technologies, management consultancy Cap Gemini and an American start-up. In 2008, she received her doctorate at the Technical University of Berlin, became assistant professor and completed her habilitation in 2011. She was full-tenured professor for Innovation Management and Entrepreneurship at the Faculty of Economics and Social Sciences at the University of Potsdam from 2011-2019.

She was deputy chair of the Expert Commission on Research and Innovation (EFI) and former member of the High-Tech Forum of the German government. Professor Hölzle teaches entrepreneurship, innovation and technology management at the Bachelor, Master and Executive Master level at national and international universities. She was Visiting professor at the University of International Business and Economics (UIBE) in Beijing, University of Technology Sydney (UTS) as well as Macquarie University in Sydney. She was Editor-in-chief of the journal 'Creativity and Innovation Management' (CIM) from 2015 to the end of March 2022 and remains involved as a Senior Advisor.

Her research areas include technology management, digital transformation and socio-technical systems in start-up and innovation. She advises companies on strategic issues of technological innovation and serves as a mentor and advisory board member for various start-ups.
