Deputy Director Fraunhofer IAO Dr.-Ing. Florian Herrmann
Dr.-Ing. Florian Herrmann studied Industrial Engineering in Konstanz and Karlsruhe.
In 2011, he started his professional career as a research assistant at the Fraunhofer Institute for Industrial Engineering IAO and received his doctorate in 2015 from the Faculty of Design, Production and Automotive Engineering at the University of Stuttgart on the topic of "Determining the scope of value creation for new products". During his various positions at the institute, he assumed both personnel and technical responsibility, particularly in larger collaborative projects with industrial customers.
As head of the Mobility and Innovation Systems research area, as of 2018 he was responsible for research activities on the topics of transformation of the automotive industry from the perspective of future value creation and employment effects, new business models, and innovation methods and formats.
In 2021, he has joined the institute management of Fraunhofer IAO as deputy institute director. His focus here is on the further development of the institute's service portfolio as well as the initiation of strategic cooperations and collaborations in the innovation systems of the future.
He is also involved in various committees and associations, such as the National Platform Future of Mobility (NPM) and the Baden-Württemberg Automotive Industry Strategy Dialog.
