By public transportation
From Stuttgart main station or the airport, take S-Bahn (suburban rail) line S1, S2 or S3 in the direction of Vaihingen as far as the stop »Universität« (university). Follow the exit sign »Universität« and then signs to »Wohnheime Allmandring« (student residences). Continue along Allmandring for about 200 m after passing the student residences. The IAT building is located on the left-hand side of the street.

By car
Arriving on the A8 autobahn from the direction of Karlsruhe or Munich, when you reach the Stuttgart interchange (Autobahnkreuz Stuttgart), turn onto the A81/A381 following the signs to Stuttgart-Zentrum (city center). Continue to the exit »Universität« (university), then turn left at the traffic lights into Universitätstraße, which leads into Nobelstraße about 120 m later. The entrance to the Fraunhofer institute center is on the right, just beyond the »Nobelstraße« bus stop. Parking is available in the institute center’s parking garage. Alternatively, for direct access to the new building at Allmandring 35, continue further beyond the »Nobelstraße« bus stop and turn right into Allmandring, where it is the second building on the right (glass building). Parking is available on the lot in front of the building.

IAO branch office Allmandring

By public transportation
Take S-Bahn (suburban rail) line S1, S2 or S3 from the main station or line S2 or S3 from the airport as far as the stop »Universität« (university), and then follow signs to »Wohnheime Straußäcker« (student residences) (about 5 minutes on foot). The IAO branch office is in the multipurpose building (»Verfügungsgebäude«) on Allmandring, directly behind these student residences.

By car
Arriving via the A8 or A81 autobahn, when you reach the Stuttgart interchange (»Autobahnkreuz Stuttgart«), take the exit »Stuttgart-Zentrum/S-Vaihingen« and follow the A831 / B14 as far as the exit »Universität« (university). Then continue along Universitätstraße and Pfaffenwaldring to Allmandring. Parking is available on the lot in front of the building.
