Many work procedures in administration offices and in companies are often so inefficient that certain tasks are ultimately carried out twice.

Kodok The time-consuming search for documents, long processing times, multiple filing, a lack of transparency of systems and procedures, as well as format discontinuities and incompatibilities between partial systems, impede integrated, customer-oriented and smooth operations. Appropriate methods to mange new types of documents, such as animation or video sequences, are also additionally required.

Computer-aided document and workflow management systems are used to significantly optimize the potential for simplifying workflows. The Center for Document and Workflow Management at the Fraunhofer IAO shows how these solutions work in detail and how they can be combined to create company-specific office environments.
