The Urban Systems Engineering competence team conducts research into tools, methods and processes for use in urban planning and the implementation and transformation of urban systems. The methods employed by the multidisciplinary team to design urban spaces and infrastructures encompass both strategic planning and technology management.
A major focus of our research is the development of innovative, future-oriented technological concepts for application in housing design, neighborhood planning, and urban development. We work together with industrial partners, other research organizations, and local authorities to develop needs-based, customized methods and solutions strategies up to the prototype stage, and provide scientific support during their implementation.
By applying a holistic approach, we aim to improve present-day urban systems and develop new ideas that will contribute to the vision of tomorrow’s sustainable, life-enhancing, and flexible urban environments. And by combining our technological skills and applications expertise in bilateral projects, we can help our partners to become leading innovators and thus gain a decisive competitive advantage.
